Wind and hail. Suppose the wind blows a tree onto your house or a hail storm that has stones big enough to remove granular from your roof’s shingles. Hail can also crack or destroy plastic siding and gutters. Hail damage also looks like dents on valley metals, gutters, downspouts, and window wraps. Wind damage can lift shingles off of the roofing, causing leaks.
